Municipal Health Office Building
The Municipal Health Directorate, an organizational unit that groups functions and activities to meet specific objectives related to the policy of the Ministry of Public Health in terms of administration, medical care, teaching and research in the territory with the human and material resources available to it and with the application of community participation and intersectoriality. It works on the constant improvement of the population's health status and its satisfaction by guaranteeing the provision of excellent services in the territory based on the analysis of the health situation.
It is located in Calle José Antonio Echavarría No. 123 between José Martí Ave. and Patricio Lubumba, which, in order to fulfill its mission, has a network of health institutions, among which the following stand out: 4 polyclinics, with 60 Family Doctor and Nurse offices, 1 Hospital, 1 Municipal Hygiene and Epidemiology Unit (UMHE), 1 Stomatology Clinic, 1 Nursing Home and 1 Grandparents' Home. To attend a dispensed population of 54,160 inhabitants.
Buenaventura Polyclinic
The polyclinic is the main institution of our health system; it is in charge of promoting, protecting and restoring the health of its population. To this end, it provides comprehensive health care services for the individual, the family, the community and the environment with a biopsychosocial approach where teaching, medical care, hygiene, epidemiology and research are combined as indissoluble elements of the same process. Its purpose is to contribute to the continuous improvement of the population's health status by integrating the actions of health area institutions. Stomatology Clinic
The Stomatology Clinic, an institution with human and material resources in charge of providing primary and secondary ambulatory stomatology care with a high scientific and technical level to patients, family and community including health promotion, disease prevention, cure, rehabilitation and emergency actions. The care model is organized based on the analysis of the health situation through oral health teams integrated into basic work groups and the health area. Its purpose is to satisfy the needs of dental care demanded by the state of health of the population of our territory with the highest quality and rational use of resources.
The dental services have twelve care units divided between the health areas of Mir, San Agustín, Vista Hermosa and the municipal capital.
Old People's Home “José Miro Argenter”The Nursing Home is an Institution of our system that is in charge of the integral and continuous attention of the institutionalized elderly people, who due to diverse medical and/or social causes cannot maintain an autonomous life in close relationship with the family and the community, with the cooperation of other institutions, assumes the social commitment to improve the quality of life of the patients, workers and reaches the excellence in the services for greater satisfaction of the users. Its aim is to satisfy the needs of these patients with high quality and the rational use of resources. It has a capacity of 20 internal places and 5 daytime places.
Grandparents' House “Los Zapaticos de Rosa”
The grandparents' house is a social institution that provides comprehensive daytime care to those elderly people who lack any filial protection whatsoever or whose relatives are unable to care for them during the day. Their characteristics are that they are patients who find it difficult to carry out the activities of daily life with instruments and maintain the basic functional capacities to perform the activities of daily life. Its purpose is to satisfy the needs of these people that guarantee their health status with the provision of quality services. It has a capacity of 30 daytime places.
