He shared his passion for reporting from all media with the honorable duty of serving his people, as a Member of the National Assembly of People's Power for 5 Legislatures.
Barredo, as we knew him, shared, defended and felt as his own the proposals formulated by the voters during 25 years representing the people of Calixto Garcia. Life made his last visit to the municipality coincide with a date that would mark the lives of all Cubans, November 26, 2016, sharing the pain of the departure to immortality of our undefeated Commander Fidel Castro.
The last ideas shared by him during his meeting with young people from the region as a member of the Cuban Parliament are still latent. We have full confidence in you, we know that you will know how to keep alive in the future the flame of this Revolution that will continue to belong to the humble, with the humble and for the humble as Fidel said.
We Calixteños reaffirm this phrase; we will never fail the illustrious adopted son of this land, a distinction won by his nobility, profound humanism, and simplicity.
