The municipality of Calixto García remains in the new normality thanks to the multisectoral work and, especially, of Public Health in the fight against Covid 19.
Dr. Geovanis Castellanos Sánchez, Municipal Director of Health, spoke about the current situation in this territory.
"We have four active Covid outbreaks in the territory. Three of them have not had positive cases since February 13, which gives an idea of the control we have maintained. Another focus, in Janata, which is an extension of a focus in Holguín, and as we have a positive case contact, we have worked it in this community and currently we have 28 contacts, 18 of them in an isolation center in the municipality."
About the strengths to face Covid 19 in the four health areas of the municipality, Dr. Castellanos Sanchez said: "We have enough personnel, prepared to respond to any situation in all health areas of the territory, with 60 medical offices and the municipal hospital, in addition to the support of medical students for the investigations".
The Calixteño territory also has the isolation center of the Los Pinos Motel at the disposal of the Provincial Health Directorate, where a group of workers who provided services in the battle against the coronavirus were received.
The Public Health authorities in the municipality of Calixto García call, once again, on the population to comply with the sanitary indications to avoid the spread of the deadly virus and in this way accompany the effort of thousands of men and women in white coats who every day bet on life.
