Yunia Garayalde González is coordinator of the Los Itabos Television Room, in the municipality of Calixto García in the province of Holguín, a program of the Revolution that celebrates its 20th anniversary on March 29, an idea of the greatest leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro.
"When I think of these twenty years I cannot help but evoke Fidel, who has been the driving force behind this wonderful program that is today in the peasant neighborhoods. I feel very proud to be a founder and to belong to it."
This program of the Revolution emerges as a beautiful and human work that reaches the most remote places with means that make possible an informed and educated people. Daisí Arzuaga, coordinator of the TV room in La Cuchilla, also belongs to it.
"I feel immense pride in belonging to the TV room program. I have been linked to it for 13 years, and the experiences are varied. I am pleased to be able to share the reading of a book with the neighbors in the community, or to provide the press, or to serve tea to those who visit the facility. Our mission is to contribute to the education of the population, and I believe we are more than fulfilling that mission.
No matter if they are intricate or difficult to access areas, the remoteness does not prevent that from the 29 Television Rooms of the municipality of Calixto García, and the seven of the municipality of Cacocum, which are attended here, information and culture are multiplied; now tempered to the difficult situation that the country is going through. About his mission in this stage, Daisí Arzuaga, said: "We help the delegate of the district to distribute the resources in the community, we give talks to the neighbors, and we visit them so that they comply with the measures to prevent Covid-19. In any situation we are present for whatever is needed."
On the twentieth anniversary of this program of the Revolution eternal recognition for these selfless workers for contributing to the Television Rooms to last for many years with the same vigor of the first day, and to be part of this people who continue to thank the Revolution and Fidel for so much happiness.
